fictional adventure, is intertwined with supernatural mythology.

|
Manipulated by the gods, a young athlete illegally enters the Olympic
games. Pursed by the authorities, Zestra flees Athens, only to be
chased by bounty hunters after brother Lyrias steals gold. Andomini,
the family's paternal leader is a devoutly religious farmer, and
is constantly at odds with his wife, Demarete, an atheist and a
descendent of Spartan royalty, who is hiding in the foothills outside
Athens.

Zestra voluntarily submits to slavery as a chariot driver in order
to book passage out of Greece. A sea battle claims Andomini. As
slaves to Prometheus, they travel city-to-city, eventually reaching
Rome, and become entangled in chaos, treason, and political corruption.
The gods squabble over their own interference, and realize their
own fate.

Bosarius
|
|
|
A Praetorian guard, Bosarius, discovers their secret, and recruits
Zestra as an agent to aid those who wish the Emperor dead. The death
of Commodus brings the appointment of Emperor Pertinax and peace,
until rebellious Legions march on Rome. Zestra must convince Athens
and Sparta to fight for the Empire; otherwise all will be food for
the lions in the theater. Unexpected reinforcements answer age old
questions, while the gods speak not in riddles but in truth.

Born on the island of Sardinia, west of Italia, Bosarius works
as a young man in the family owned quarry. Treated worst than a
slave by his father and grandfather, his unbroken spirit is hardened.
Seeking adventure Bosarius and his childhood friends, Robario and
Allegro join the
Legion and are put on campaign in the northern frontier.

Book Five - Praetorian |

Prior to being moved to the war with Germania, Bosarius is called
home to become chief Prefect (Police Guard) on Sardinia. Prefects
from throughout the Empire are called to Rome for an exhibition
in the Coliseum, where Bosarius is condemned to night duty as a
Praetorian Virgile. Rising through the ranks he becomes entangled
in the corruption and power struggles between the Senate and the
Emperor. Life was devoid of meaning until he recruits Zestra as
an assassin for Rome.
